Great idea. Working group leading to plan a forum where there are more opportunities to share ideas. #CICM2019asm was only the start. Lots more work to be done. Wellington ASM 2020 combined trainee/update day ? Could fit under “chronic disease” theme

Nice advice from neurosurgeon (Prof Jeffree) - if consenting for TBI decompression, ask family what happened (even when you know). This allows you to assess health literacy & how they relate to each other & are dealing with trauma. Adjust your advice accordingly #CICM2019ASM

I’ve noticed a trend over the last year or so of doctors tweeting anonymously. It’s very difficult to have a discussion with someone who chooses to be nameless and faceless. If you want to engage with your colleagues on social media please let us know who you are. #CICM2019ASM

Suggestions for @CICMANZ 2020 in Wellington - what are your thoughts? @RobBevan76 @KateTietjens I’d like to see welfare and gender equity issues being programmed front and centre. Convo cut short today; ppl clearly have a lot to say @ViridescentFrog #cicm2019asm

A full house to hear about nerve agents and jellyfish (rare) but only a handful of people attending the culture session (BDSH behaviours common - 35% in ICU). #cicm2019asm @ViridescentFrog @kaje30 @drsarahyong - needs to held in be prime time

Perhaps ask trainees and fellows ‘if you had another choice would you actually stay in the unit you are currently in?’ Underemployment, short contracts and family needs make our decisions for us meaning we may have to stay in a broken unit because no other options #cicm2019asm

Does your conference schedule the culture session first thing after the big party? Is culture more or less important than the latest tranexamic acid trial? #CICM2019asm https:// twitter.com/drsarahyong/st atus/1137491028498296832   …

[email protected] addresses the in the room - acknowledgement. ICU does have a culture problem. It’s great to talk bout it, but to progress, we need to make welfare and culture a priority - and that’s not by scheduling it at 7.45am post Sat night party #cicm2019asm @CICMANZ

#CICM2019ASM session on ICU culture: trainees will work out if your unit is any good by asking other trainees what your education programme is like. Is it protected? Is it valued? Is it even provided? In the age of social media, bad units can no longer hide. @KateTietjens
