It's never too late to turn to God. It's never too late for God to come and rescue us and take us to be with Christ in paradise. Don't miss your chance. #sermontweet

Don't think things are harmless fun and easy to give up. Habits are powerful and pernicious. Don't play around with things that can get a grip and draw you deeper into more danger. #sermontweet
We can even make a difference by simply mentioning hunger in a conversation, sermon, tweet or club meeting. The end of hunger is in sight. If only we would reach our hands out for it. Will the valley ...

Saul even worse because consulting mediums, witches and spiritists are explicitly forbidden by God in scripture. Not because they aren't real but because they are dangerous. Horoscopes, superstitions etc not good or necessary. God is where we can turn for guidance. #sermontweet

Who do you listen to? Your own heart? The people who say what you want to hear? Or God's word, even when it's hard to hear and hard to put into practice? Remember David last week making the same mistake - listening to himself not God. #sermontweet

We can tell Saul's motives by his response to God's word: he rejects it throughout his life as well as in this chapter. He listens to the people who tell him what he wants to hear. #sermontweet

Do we care more about knowing God to worship and obey him or do we care more about being known by others as good Christians? #sermontweet

Did Saul really want to be obedient to the Lord? Or did he just want the blessings for himself? Do we want God or God's favours? #sermontweet

We're on 1 Samuel 28 this morning: witches and spirits from the dead. Looking forward to the #sermontweet!

"Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out." (Proverbs 10:9) Jesus was perfect. He is the only one who walked with integrity always. And so, he's worthy of our praise and honor. #sermontweet #startwithJesus

In Christ, God seeks the lost. God has come to save sinners. God has found us. We are not lost anymore! Because of Jesus, no one is permanently lost. There are the sought after and the found. That’s it. #sermontweet
Matt Gorkos 15/09/2019 07:23
Jesus tells the parables in Luke 15 as if to say that “lost” is the permanent human condition, and like the sheep and the coin, there is nothing WE can do to be unlost. EXCEPT someone is searching for us. #sermontweet
Matt Gorkos 15/09/2019 07:23
Lostness can be defined as spiritual, vocational, emotional, physical, etc., but regardless of form feels hopelessly permanent. #sermontweet

It could be argued that at the start of every Christian’s story is not “Once upon a time...” but rather “Once I was lost...” #sermontweet

#SermonTweet God’s extravagant search for us, allows us to extend that to others. Who is outside? Jesus reaches out & attracts anger. Which one of you? Can you find your way? God invites us to join in the search. After relentless search - relief - celebration! Rejoice!
