Today's #GoogleDoodle celebrates Japanese inventor Seiichi Miyake. In 1965, Miyake spent his own money to invent tactile blocks or Tenji blocks in an effort to help his friend navigate. Today, these raised bumps & bars are used on sidewalks & in public spaces around the world!

Today's @GoogleDoodles celebrates tactile paving: an innovation that transformed the way those who are visually impaired navigate. In 1967, 52 yrs ago today, the 1st tactile paving was laid near Okayama School for the Blind in Japan. Since they've been adopted across the globe.
